I Tried the Miracle Acne Band Aids From TikTok

Recently TikTok has been blowing up with these so-called "miracle" acne band-aids. These band-aids were originally created to help with blisters on heels and toes, but recently people have realized that they have the same special ingredient as acne spot treatment patches, HYDROCOLLOID.

I've done some research to find out what hydrocolloid band-aids actually do and here is what I've found out. Hydrocolloid band-aids are gel bandages that promote healing and suck out all the junk in your skin like puss, dirt, and sebum, which is the natural oil that your body makes, and while you need this oil to protect your skin, too much can clog pores causing breakouts on your skin. The hydrocolloid gel pulls all of this out and creates a little white bubble in the band-aid. Most of the videos on TikTok are of people peeling off the bandages to show how much came out of their skin and the difference in their acne after, but I decided I needed to see for myself, here's how it went.

I started by washing my face like the box told me to.

Then I cut up the band-aids so I could cover more spots, and stuck them on my face. Then you just go to bed with them on, and to be honest, you forget they are even on, they stick great and you can't even feel them.

Here's what they look like the next morning, all of the white dots are the nasty junk they pulled out of my skin.

Overall I thought these were great, they definitely do what everyone says they do. Even though you can still see some of the spots they feel so much flatter and I can tell that they are healing so much faster. I 100% will be ordering these again (especially because I got a pack of 8 for like 3 bucks) and they come in a bunch of different sizes if you want to cover more than just spots!!!

Update from a few days later: the spots are disappearing and my acne is healing so much better!!!
